We are currently searching for an Accounting Supervisor to work at the corporate office located in Memphis, TN. DESCRIPTION: This position is responsible for the supervision of, Property Accountants , and performs the finance, accounting and operations support activities for LEDIC managed properties (generally equivalent approximately 10 apartment communities). This position will be involved in assessing complex accounting transactions and determining how to record these in the financial statements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Prepare various analysis reports as requested. Assisting in or leading accounting or operations projects from time to time as requested. Coordinating the annual audit process and implementation of effective internal controls. Understanding apartment owners goals and developing successful action plans to support them. Review assigned staff work product to ensure the information is complete and accurate to be released to external and internal clients. Review bank reconciliations for assigned personnel. This position may serve as a key contact for owners on accounting related matters for their property(s) and as a Financial Business partner for one or more Regional Vice Presidents which will include being informed and able to meet, discuss and advise them on the financial aspects of their regions business unit. Effective communications with other team members and supervisors and willingness to assist LEDIC to reach company goals and objectives. 10 hours or more of self-administered accounting or related training per year to keep accounting skills up to date. Performs the finance, accounting and operations support activities for the more challenging properties. QUALIFICATIONS: 4 Year college degree or equivalent required. 4 to 8 years experience in a related field. Ability to anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner. Very high level of understanding of accounting concepts, GAAP and internal controls. Experience with accounting software, preferably Great Plains Property management accounting strongly preferred. Strong Excel skills including preparing and modifying spreadsheets. Ability to lead others and work effectively with all levels of accounting and operations management. Willingness train and to assist others perform their duties in a team environment workplace. Ability to review and understand management agreements and their impact on apartment accounting and LEDIC to advise management. BENEFITS:
