Job Description:
The Utility Person supports the overall cleanliness, safety, and
functionality of school or campus facilities. This role performs a
variety of maintenance, custodial, and groundskeeping tasks to
ensure a clean and well-maintained environment that supports
student learning and staff productivity. Pay: $15.82/hour The pay
listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A
specific offer will vary based on the applicant’s experience,
skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market

first of the month following six months of employment. ABM matches

vested. Key Responsibilities: Assist with general maintenance
duties including light repairs, painting, furniture moving, and
equipment setup. Perform routine custodial tasks such as sweeping,
mopping, vacuuming, and waste removal. Support groundskeeping
efforts including lawn care, snow removal, and general exterior
upkeep. Set up and break down rooms for meetings, events, and
special activities. Monitor and report building repair needs,
safety hazards, or maintenance concerns to the supervisor.
Replenish supplies and maintain inventory of cleaning and
maintenance materials. Operate maintenance equipment and tools
safely and efficiently. Assist other maintenance and custodial
staff as needed. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED
required. Previous experience in maintenance, custodial, or
facilities work preferred. Basic knowledge of cleaning and
maintenance techniques. Ability to follow verbal and written
instructions. Physically able to lift, bend, stand, and perform
manual labor in various weather conditions. Strong attention to
detail and ability to work independently. Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a school or
educational facility. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a
plus. Familiarity with safety and sanitation regulations. 100 About
