Job Description Job Description Description: Middle School ELA Teachers design weekly lesson plans, develop standards-based assessments, analyze assessment data, and create intervention plans to meet our 21st Century Learners' needs. In addition, Granville T. Woods teachers integrate technology effectively in the classrooms and implement project-based learning. Additional Responsibilities include: Creating lesson plans Teaching 21st Century Learners a common core based curriculum Integrating technology into lessons and plans Motivating scholars towards achievement Meeting with parents regarding performance and conduct Developing 21st Century Learner improvement plans Working with special educators in a co-teaching model for students with IEP plans Work planning with school and community teams Attending required professional development training Create and review student assessments Serve as a member of the leadership team charged with the overall success and operations of the school. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Qualifications: BA/BS and hold and/or be eligible to receive a current TN teaching license in appropriate subject area. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Hold the belief that all students can learn at high academic levels. Uses digital content, technology integration, and project-based learning in a highly efficient manner. Have the ability to work in an extended day environment. Has the ability to teach in an inclusion environment with a co-teacher. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with internal and external stakeholders. Proficient in the use of personal computers, office productivity software, and common business computer technologies (e.g., Windows, Word, Excel, printers, copiers, and scanners). Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines. Ability to multitask to complete a wide variety of tasks and projects. Attention to detail to ensure tasks are completed thoroughly and correctly. Flexibility to adjust to new strategies, procedures, and tasks as the organization evolves. Collaborative problem solving by seeking input and ideas from others. Reliability and discretion with sensitive information. Strong ethical leadership abilities. Ability to function with and without close supervision.
