Charleston is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit
for a travel nursing job in Germantown, Tennessee. Job Description
& Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit -
Discipline: RN - Start Date: 07/15/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36
hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel
Position Requirements - Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the
state of Tennessee - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from
the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross -
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the
American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross -
Minimum of two years of paid experience as an RN in a similar
setting Job Responsibilities - Provide close observation and care
for patients with hemodynamically stable myocardial infarction,
dysrhythmias, pacemakers, and CHF. - Monitor and titrate select
cardiac drips, assist with procedures (e.g., sheath removal), and
manage post-PCI, NSTEMI, and STEMI cases. - Recognize and respond
to hypertensive urgency and support heart failure patients on
inotropes. - Manage medically stable ventilator-dependent patients
and initiate ventilator weaning protocols. - Administer and monitor
high-flow oxygen therapy (>6L/min), perform aggressive pulmonary
physiotherapy, and assess frequent vital signs. - Conduct frequent
neurological assessments on post-stroke patients or those with
chronic neurologic disorders. - Care for patients post-thrombolytic
therapy and those needing frequent turning/suctioning. - Monitor
postoperative patients from major surgeries needing fluid
resuscitation, transfusions, and close observation (e.g.,
neurosurgical, transplant cases). - Manage patients with complex
wound care needs or those undergoing pain management protocols. -
Support patients with DKA, hyperosmolar states, and thyroid
imbalances requiring intensive insulin or monitoring. - Stabilize
and observe patients with controlled GI bleeding or liver
dysfunction. - Provide care for obstetric patients with
pre-eclampsia or other complications needing cardiac monitoring. -
Observe and treat patients with drug ingestion/overdose who are
hemodynamically stable but require close monitoring. - Continuously
assess and manage fluid balance, early sepsis cases, and patients
with end-stage diseases exacerbated by acute illness. - Maintain
detailed documentation and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
