Job Description:
As a Correctional Officer at the Federal Bureau of Prisons
(BOP), you will serve on the frontline of federal penitentiary
operations. This position demands high ethical standards and a
commitment to the rehabilitative aspects of corrections. Working in
conjunction with a highly dedicated team, you will oversee the
custody, safety, and care of inmates, helping maintain secure and
humane correction facilities consistent with public safety. Join us

security and the correctional system. Maintain security and control
of the institution through supervision, surveillance, and patrol on
a routine basis. Oversee inmate conduct and safety, responding to
emergencies and situations that arise. Enforce rules, regulations,
and guidelines while respecting the rights of inmates. Assist in
rehabilitation programs and counseling sessions to support inmate
reformation and successful reintegration into society. Inspect
facilities to ensure they meet safety standards and detect any
contraband. Prepare and maintain records of inmate conduct and
progress. Operate security equipment and utilize defensive tactics
as necessary. Ability to use and maintain weapons and restraint
equipment safely. Proficient in the operation of security control
systems. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to
respond in emergency situations. Understanding of correctional
facility operating rules and regulations. Medical Insurance Dental
