Job Description:
About the Role: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the
Nights Emergency Department plays a critical role in delivering
high-quality patient care during overnight shifts in a fast-paced
emergency setting. This position requires providing direct nursing
care, monitoring patient conditions, and assisting with emergency
procedures to ensure patient safety and comfort. The LPN
collaborates closely with physicians, registered nurses, and other
healthcare professionals to implement treatment plans and respond
promptly to changing patient needs. Additionally, the role involves
maintaining accurate patient records and adhering to all regulatory
and hospital policies to support effective clinical operations.
Ultimately, the LPN contributes to the overall efficiency and
effectiveness of the emergency department by delivering
compassionate, skilled nursing care during night hours. Minimum
Qualifications: - Current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
license in the state of employment within the United States. -
Completion of an accredited practical nursing program. - Basic Life
Support (BLS) certification. - Minimum of one year of clinical
nursing experience, preferably in an emergency or acute care
setting. - Ability to work night shifts and adapt to the demands of
a high-stress emergency department environment. Preferred
Qualifications: - Experience working in an emergency department or
urgent care setting. - Advanced certifications such as IV therapy
or medication administration endorsements. - Training in trauma
nursing or emergency care protocols. - Familiarity with electronic
health record (EHR) systems used in hospital settings. - Strong
communication and teamwork skills demonstrated in previous
healthcare roles. Responsibilities: - Provide direct nursing care
to patients in the emergency department during night shifts,
including administering medications and treatments as prescribed. -
Monitor and assess patient conditions, reporting any changes or
concerns to the supervising registered nurse or physician promptly.
- Assist with emergency procedures and interventions, ensuring
patient safety and adherence to clinical protocols. - Document
patient care activities accurately and timely in electronic health
records, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with healthcare
regulations. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to
coordinate patient care and support efficient department workflow
during overnight hours. Skills: The required skills enable the LPN
