Job Description Geriatrics opening in Jonesboro, AR70 miles to Memphis TN; 100 miles to Little Rock, ARService area of 100,000 peopleFull time, permanent opening Senior Health Clinic physicians typically see 7-8 patients per half clinic day session. New patient appointments are 40 minutes for the physician. Established patient visits are 30 minutes. Acute visits are 20 minutes. Physicians are likely to never see more than 15-16 patients per day depending on the appointment type. After hours call is shared by 6 providers making the rotation roughly q 6 weeks. After hours call is phone call only as the hospitalist service covers all inpatients. During a one week call rotation (Monday-Monday), there are approximately 20 after hours calls. Providers get a post call day the Monday after their week on call. Senior Health Clinic utilizes an interdisciplinary team including a full time social worker to meet the needs of the older population. There is a patient base of approximately 1200. There are 2 geriatricians as well as 2 APRNs. Location:Located in the thriving downtown area of Jonesboro, Arkansas, our goal is service through regional health care and we are truly is the regional health care provider. Our 435 bed facility serves as the referral center for 23 counties in Northeast Arkansas and Southeast Missouri and a population of just over 620,000.Jonesboro is a wonderful place to raise a family. It serves as the commercial, social and cultural center of Northeast Arkansas with a population just over 65,000. Jonesboro offers the conveniences of a big city within a setting of acres of state parks, golf courses and inviting forests and lakes. Jonesboro is a family oriented community with six different public school systems (one of which has been rated one in the state for five years in a row) and four private schools. The community is also home to Arkansas State University with more than 12,000 students from around the world.
